You seem to exaggerate the point that you loved something before it was cool, or before it was mainstream, or even before it was sliced into delicious, entirely separate pieces of bread. You talk down to people who learned of this now-successful thing after you did, because it makes you feel superior somehow. This is the wrong approach to take, but you do it all too often. Instead of being glad that something you’ve witnessed from humble origin has exploded into a phenomenon, you’d rather pee all over the newcomers with your liquid-y words of hate. Not only do you do a disservice to the thing you love by disenfranchising new fans, but you also make yourself look like an idiot.
