You enter solemnly, nerves frayed from worry, and slowly sink down into the semi-plush waiting room chair. You haven’t flossed in a while, and the morning snack of cold popcorn probably wasn’t the best idea. All the while you’re waiting to hear your name called, wondering about the damage done to your chompers over the past six/twelve/forty-eight months.
And then you hear The Whirring.
For a clinic designed to aid teeth, it’s a bit strange to think a drill plays a major role in accomplishing this. Perhaps coupled with grunts of pain or the screams of a child, the sound of the drill is just enough to send some into a fear spiral. The only thought that seems to leap to mind is simple, but terrifying:
“Will that happen to me?”
